In preparation for the largest, and most insane Cardboard Tube Fighting League event yet, I arranged an armor building workshop at a local cafe. I was working on cardboard bagpipes while other peoples projects ranged from Optimus Prime, to a toilet paper roll.
Sandwich’s 30th birthday recently came and passed so she put-on a gorilla drive-in showing of Logan’s Run. We set up shop in the parking lot of an out-of-business Hollywood Video. Some friends of mine put on an Ex-Mormon dinner an my place recently. The dinner included a dress code, and some very bizarre mormon and anti-Mormon propaganda from the past. We watched this cartoon, which has some weird inaccuracies. The dinner was lovely and the stories were interesting even though only two of the twelve guests actually had Mormon roots.
Some friends hosted a great Kite Fighting event which I believe was associated with the 9.8th Fighting Kite Brigade. Much like the more traditional form of kite fighting the goal is to destroy your opponents kite with yours through various kamikaze maneuvers.
